api/authenticate
Returns a json notice response, if the account details passed are valid.

- login - login to test

password - password to test: the clear-text password, the stored credential hash verbatim, or the md5 hash of that stored hash. (Hashing the password itself with md5 will not work.)
- token - optional; when present, a token is included in the response.
